How your flowers arrive...

The cut flower industry has changed immensely since Allwoods first started sending cut flowers back in 1915, when we were at our peak we would pick flowers from one of the many Allwoods nurseries, then pack them take to Croydon Airport (before Gatwick existed!) to be flown all over the world, supplying America, Holland, China and many other countries.  These days many cut flowers are brought into the UK from overseas and there is very little commercial flower growing now in this country.

Very little has changed in our packing methods for the cut flowers, the only real difference is the modern growing techniques has enables flowers to last longer without water, which makes transporting & posting them a lot easier.

When we started posting flowers direct to customers back in 1915 they were made in specially made wooden boxes, today although we pack them the same we use recyclable cardboard boxes & paper and minimise wastage by not included cellophane , ensuring our stems are nice and long for arranging in a vase.

We send the highest grade cut carnations, with good long stems for all floral requirements and can be sent as a gift with a personal gift message or for personal flower arranging, delivered direct to your door.

All our cut flowers and plants are packed and posted direct from our nursery in West Sussex and collected direct from us by Royal Mail ensuring they arrive as fresh to your door as when we packed them.

If local to the area you are welcome to purchase direct from our door - the 'Flower Shed' is open Monday to Friday 9am to 4.30pm.
