Packing Madness

As the Christmas break is nearly here and we tidy up the office ready for the festive holidays, I am taking a few minutes rest to reflect back and it has been a somewhat crazy time!

Preperations for Christmas flower week starts back in October! With advertising, special offers and catalogues being mailed/emailed out, we then start to receive the orders and these have to be processed onto the computer and sorted into date, size and colour order. We then have to keep analysing how many blooms we have sold and in which colours - red is always popular at Christmas and it's essential we have enough to supply demand!!

Then from 14th December we start cutting flowers and putting into water ready to use, a whopping 28,000 carnation blooms have to be packed into boxes to be sent out.

Since the 17th December we have sent over 1,000 boxes of fresh cut carnation blooms, each hand picked, packed and posted by Royal Mail, the whole procedure is almost miliatrial but alot of fun and this year has been especially kind as it hasn't been too cold.

Now after that last 4 days of packing we get a chance to sit down, have a glass of mulled wine and start to enjoy the festive season. May we wish you all a very Happy Christmas and here's to 2016 !!
